Where have you gone?

Why is a heartbeat so strong only to disappear. It's like it never existed even though you were so near.
Why does one less heartbeat change the whole beach?  and the sound of the wind and sea. How does it know you're not here?
How does a song know you're gone? So my ears hear different without that beat. 

Where did you go?

We're supposed to move on without the sounds and the smells, supposed to forget the voice and the smile.
Why touch us all just to then leave?
It makes absolutely no sense to me.

I, like the beach will remember your beat, for as long as I can just like the sea. I'll smile at your songs and hold on to your smile. 
But what happens to your smile when my heart stops the beat? Who holds on to you then when it can't be me?

I pray that the beach never does forget, just how precious you were even when they all forget.
