WHILE WE'RE HERE, STILL
Did you have a moment last night?
Yesterday?
Did you notice something on the extraordinary side?
Unusual?
Same old same old?
Are your blessings counted?
How many you got not counting today?
You first...
You're always first in my Book...
Always!
Don't worry your secrets are safe with me...
Ask anyone who knows...
Message anytime...
I would love to hear from you...
If you're going to yell please Put in the Salutations on top...
Those I read after my first cup of coffee...
If you're screaming please put in ALL CAPS with a ! at the end...
Those I read mostly before bed...
I say my prayers and go to sleep...
I'll touch base with you tomorrow first thing after my Prayers and after Two Cups of Coffee...
Thank you for your patience and understanding...

Despite what you put as the tags on this poem I sense an underlying sadness to it. "You're always first in my book" and "message me anytime." And the end which references capitals and screaming and yelling leads me to the same conclusion.
Then again I may be wrong.
A propos your choice of music. I saw America play live at an end of summer concert in September 1971 in England. They were great. I love their music. Still do. I think Tin Man is my favourite.
Ventura Highway was straight out of the California school of music that first attracted me to the state. Laurel Canyon and the Beach Boys. Many more besides. Sorry. I could go on.
Thank you for posting.
Hello Bernie...
I love their songs too...
I was in a moment and I heard Ventura Highway and I had had been putting this together...
The lyrics Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man they didn't already have...
Didn't match up with the Spirit and my heart at the time...
If my Boss gets mad at me you don't feel it...
I get that...
Thank you for your kind comment and support my friend...

Yeah I get those lyrics would not suit.
Ah your mention of the b word puts a new complexion on my interpretation.
Regarding America my personal feeling is that they never bettered, other than Tin Man, their first album and Homecoming.
That concert was held at the Oval Cricket Ground in London. The weather was superb the whole day. The headliners were the Faces and the Who. They did Won't get fooled again which was memorable.
Sorry to have gone on my friend.
