Whistles in the wind 💙

Whistles in the wind 💙

I heard whistles in the wind as I lay awake in my bed

When all these creeping thoughts were thinking around in my crazy head

But my mind is like a monotonous, mechanical machine

With an engine fired up twenty four seven, if you know what I mean

One minute as I was hiding under the covers, I thought it was a fighter plane

But then again, my head was full of what I’d just watched on the ten o’clock news..and that was insane

Then in the next gasping breath, when the wind was whooshing thru the trees

I fabricated good old Mother nature having a battle with Hercules

Coz that wailing whistle had turned to an almighty outrage, as my imagination was out on a roll, I was on a rampage

Seeing ghosts and ghouls walking through my door, I could even hear heavy thumping footsteps..creaking on the floor

Oh my giddiant!! what a state I was in, isn’t that menacing middle of the night an awful sin?
