WHO ARE THEY ?

From a distance I see people waving at me
Wondering to myself who these people can be
As they get nearer and come closer into view
I can't decide who they are and haven't a clue

They tell me all the latest news in their life
Kids have now left home for this man and wife
I listen of course it's the polite thing to do 
I still can't decide who they are and haven't a clue

The chat now over and they wish me good day
I wish I knew who they were I have to say
