WHO I AM
I am different,
I am what I am,
I am made of brightly coloured fabric,
in a sundry pattern,
flabby, each point with a jingle bell at the end,
that makes her smile to the sky,
but she can't see the difference.
I am her protector
during decadent activities,
no one can impede her dreams
I will take her out of her safe cocoon,
the show must go on,
jubilation! I am her casting director.
She lives in a haze of darkness,
a phantom in the night
wearing fancy dress, red lips ?,
heartless glinting eyes that tells a story
hidden behind the golden mask.
roaring without moaning
dancing her sweet charade
a dance of lies, a gaudy ball
a parody of love and scorn.
She needs me in this masquerade
her solace for happiness
her night overflowed with warmth and tenderness
my love and caress never to fade

Thank you Richard for your inspirational comments. I woke up late this morning after a masquerade party of a friend. I wore that mask the whole evening# No one could see my face sweating, laughing, roaring,, ### it inspired me to write.

:) It appears to be a Venetian mask ! Always wanted to be in Venice when the masquerade events are happening because they seem most adventurous.

:) I have been to Venice twice in high summer to sample its delights and am immediately struck by its beauty and character on arrival !! It is a place to lose yourself, and to be carried away by the spell-binding nature of it all.
