who torched our school

who torched our school

it was..the wicker man I saw
he came from across the valley
with an Olympic sized flame
and he ignited our curiosity
just enough to flicker
the intelligence to thirst
for more..
we waited until the lads
wriggled across the Steppes
heading for Mesopotania 
it was on the maps in the
Geography room...last time we
saw,
Stoney and Keyworth
they were laughing and scolded
us for not closing the door..
bless them that went before..

Whilst Rome burned..we fiddled,
like the Heathens that we are
