Who Will Cry?

Who will cry?
For the heart, burried under the tombstone
Will you cry?
For the victims of abuse
Who will cry
Over the weapons, that people misuse
Would you cry?
For the homeless, freezing in the streets
Who will cry
For the tiny baby, that the parent beats
I surely cry
Every moment, events occur, people die
Making me feel rage
Time to turn the page
I swear life, would change
If people would re-arrange
They're tears, instead it of always
Being pity me, like it is now a days
Think, there is always someone out there
Who because of cancer, this morning lost they're hair
There is someone else, too
Who lives to be beaten black and blue
What do you do?
I may have no clue
But, I can say this as you wake up every day healthy as a horse
Drowning, in your beer, things could be a lot worse
How selfish we can be
To not see
That while we are wasting our valuable cash
There is a child, who is searching the city trash
For some food, just to eat
While we purchase that little treat
Of our's, every single day
We are throwing our money away
So tomorrow, instead of going out to eat
I will give money, to a man living in the street
Maybe he wont go out and buy booze
He might just refuse
As I spoke to the man
I decided to do everything I can
Because the truth is, he is a veteran from a war
Bet you never considered that possibility before
Her over there, I will be taking her to a battered woman's shelter
Because she got trapped, by a man who beat her
Even the Government itself, will help an imigrant before its own citizens
Though, throughout the country there might be millions
Crying for help, when no one cares, like they should
Souls who were simply misunderstood
Or lies, putting innocent people in jail
To see the truth, people continiously fail
What a shame
We are tarnishing every good name
That still exist's on the face of this earth
Thanks to such selfishness, life has no absolute worth
I refuse to let you all win
When all you wish to do is sin

Well said, Melissa... a powerful cry for awareness to the needs around us and to be intentional in our compassion, and not indifferent; sadly societal conditioning and cynicism can put up barriers, but no excuse to be sure, a well written impassioned statement you make in this write....ode to raising these issues, my applause
