Who would be there to shed a tear
If all those who are suffering were no longer here?
All of those displaced by war
Don’t we care, what are we waiting for?
All of those who take drugs and drink
To cover their pain what do we think?
All of those who live alone
There is never a ring on their phone
Do we ever give a thought
To the things we should have been taught
That we should love each other you and me
If we don’t start now when will that be?
We need to stop thinking of self to think of others
All of those who society smothers
It’s time it’s time to put aside self
To place it securely on a shelf
To reach out to those we know are in pain
So that they will be happy again
Who would be there to shed a tear
If those who are suffering were no longer here?
