Poem -

Why did I love you

Why did I love you?
In the shattered silence of a broken heart,

I search for answers, I fall apart. Was it your smile, a beacon bright,

That guided me through the darkest night?

Or your words, like gentle rain,

That washed away my deepest pain? Why did I love you?

Was it the promise in your eyes,

A dream where hope forever lies?

Or the touch that sparked a flame,

A fire I couldn't ever tame?Why did I love you?

In the laughter we shared, a fleeting light,

Moments of joy, now out of sight.

In whispered secrets, late at night,

In stolen kisses, pure delight. Why did I love you?

In the tears, the fights, the scars,

In the battlefields of hearts at war.

In the wounds that never heal,

In the pain, so achingly real. Why did I love you?

Did I believe in love’s sweet song,

A melody where we both belonged?

Did I see a future, bright and true,

A life that only we could view? Why did I love you?

Now, in the wreckage left behind,

I struggle, I search, but cannot find.

The reasons blur, the memories fade,

In the ruins of the love we made. Why did I love you?

Perhaps I'll never truly know,

Why I let my heart bestow,

A love so deep, so pure, so bright,

That vanished in the darkest night. Why did I love you?

In the end, it matters not,

For love is blind, and reason forgot.

A lesson learned, a heartache earned,

In the ashes of the bridge we burned.

Hi Chepe, the last four lines-- is a poem in itself. You said a lot in
only 4 lines. Very good writing.
