Why I Cried

My love
for you is deep and wide, like the great canyon itself, waiting for
the mighty condor to soar and dive into its depths.
Your love
is like the great river crashing and tumbling through like a raging
torrent that slows to a sweet caressing pace and then moves on.
That is
why I cried.
My heart
skips and dances with the glittering fountains moving in time to the
music, rising to crescendo and shooting high into the air, then
cascading to the ground and once more still waters.
That is
why I cried.
My soul
is like the sheer boldness of the rockface pushing high to claim the
last warmth remaining before spending long, cold, lonely nights.
That is
why I cried.
The
blazing sun melts the glittering snow as it trickles down the
mountainside like the tears on my cheeks. It collects in deep pools
only to tumble in great falls and come crashing to the ground and
then flow away once more and continue on.
That is
why I cried.
The
warmth of the sun rays delve deep into the lake, striving to pierce
the depths, but like your love, never quite reaching before darkness
falls.
That is
why I cried.
I grieve
at the awe and the wonder, the beauty and the romance, the passion
and the love I could not share with you.
That is
why I cried and am crying still.
