WHY STOP THE CLAP?

Why stop the clap for what our carers do ?
They care for the welfare for people like you
Thursday nights were a chance to show
Why should it stop I would like to know

Respect hospital staff for their sacrifices
In my eyes worth millions on today's prices
Giving up their time for such little reward
Angels in blue should be admired and adored

Ministers said the clap had run its course
This made me bitter and so full of remorse
What harm is clapping on a Thursday night?
Hospital staff are Britain's one shining light
