Why Would I Want That?

Did you know that kindness exists?
It's where people that
May or may not know you
Treat you like you are somebody
Few people in the world
Possess such a trait
But it's said that if you have it
It's possible that you could
Give others the trait
By simply showing it
Though not many people liked
Or appreciated kindness
So those possessing it
Were antagonized, humiliated
And driven to a point where
They simply lost it
But it's said
That some remain
Despite the pain
And if your good
Maybe one day
I'll give that trait
To you
