Wildflowers

Wildflowers

The tiny seeds lay
in the palm of my hand.
Caught by a late summer breeze
they flew into the world.
Free to live
as they were intended.
I slept the winters cold days.
The months of Ā frozen snow
filled the garden.
They lay asleep under
its pure white mantle.
Then the sun moved the winter
and springtime beckoned
warm early sunshine.
Calling all living things
from their sleep.
In the garden
I saw my seeds again.
They were lovely
wild and free
colorful and smiling..
Such beautiful wildflowers.
I stopped and pondered the lessons.
lessons from
tiny seeds and nature.
If I had set you free
like these seeds
Free from the grip of my hand.
Allowing the soft warm
breezes and summer rains
to blow through your wild hair.
would I be looking at you now?
in this springtime glory.
Seeing you
Ā as happy and beautiful
as my wildflowers.
