FRUITS OF LOVE
Shall I gather your
fruits of painful love?
To bring them in
a flower basket into
your courtyard,
Though some are lost
and some are not ripe,
For the season grows
heavy with its bountifulness,
Shall I gather your
fruits of painful love?
I shall set sail on the blue river,
My March wind is anxious,
Freezing the leisurely
waves into whispers of love,
Shall I gather your
fruits of painful love?
Your garden has yielded it all,
And in the weary hour of
Evening the call comes
from your hut on the shores
in these twilight moods of love.
