WILLIAMSJI MAVELI : POEM: MY PORTRAIT
MY PORTRAIT

MY PORTRAIT
I just sketched my own portrait of truth,
Was it a lie or a mixture of the two?
Is beauty depends on the volume of truth,
Without honesty never dipped in my color
Like an artist, I sketched a face and image,
Inserted my own heart and soul into it
Applied true tones of color themes;
With all dedication, love, and loyalty,
I was able to produce a beautiful piece.
If the real purpose is simply to praise,
Spectator and paint for
the sake of getting outward pleasure,
God's own face cannot be called
a piece of lasting beauty.
I see that in your face of life,
I became faceless.
