Whispered Wishes

Whispered wishes on the wind,
A tear falls, a heart confined.
Twilight's cloak, a gentle hush,
Life's embers flicker, embers blush.

Dreams may mend, though light grows dim,
Love's tiny flame, a flickering hymn.
Hope's embers, a dying spark,
May rise anew, ignite the dark.

Though shadows lengthen, cold may creep,
Life's river flows, secrets it keeps.
