The Willow Healer

Let me walk you down to the willow trees

Where their hanging leaves tell the stories I never spoke of

And each fear, branched to the thick trunks

Grounded by tall waters to drown the roots

Grounded by tall waters to drown the roots

Rained on and veiled because these roots,

they contain all the pain and bliss, laughs and cries

Every fiber and feeling of my time here on earth

So can you hear, the whispers of the vines?

Swaying in the wind, low to the ground so someone

SO SOMEONE CAN SEE, and maybe FEEL

Maybe grab on to the parts that are reaching

for some air, for your touch and for relief.

From this rot stirring within, its deepest rings.

layers of age could never mask its broken core.

So walk through these waters at risk

But every breath you supply,

it dries every suppressing drop

Unconsumed by these roots, the plague within,

Disperses at the very contact of your most calming skin.
