Willow Tree Outside My Window

A weeping willow tree outside my window
Stares back at me, as if to say come hither, and yet
I cannot bring myself to believe in simple, hollow, matter
I need an explanation
A way to keep control
And so I write my name with breath on this window
And pray it comes alive, to see me thrive
In it's protective shadow
But century's of memories keep plugging up how wide
I might spread the sound of wounded wings
Or just how far I may glide upon the thermals
And so I stick to my friend, the willow, and strap in for the ride
I know the road is long and naiveness has no place inside these lines
"Hang on to me, Mr. Willow tree, Help me get my hands inside my pride"
I've got to learn to understand what the breath on the window signed
A perfect contractual obligation
Between me and my willow tree
To be that warm reflection
Of that man who stands inside the window
Weeping with you at night.........
