Window of Truth

Across the Great divide .
woman and man .
the huge ice wall
between ran .
Parked side by side..
with windows down..
In the heat of
a Skegness day..
just after breakfast..
he broke the ice..
safely from his
four wheel drive..
( Which was nice)
I caught his drift
about midriff..
seated in my Picasso..
I'm no oil painting..
I admit..it now..
I used to sit here,
aged seven..
and gaze across The Wash..
with my parents..
bickering in the front..
and proclaim..
how boring it was..
Now I sit here..
just the same..
staring out to sea..
although the wind turbines
are recent..
He laughed and said me too..
Apparently..
He comes from Rothetham..
He said he was knacked..
I said..he must have had..
a hard paper round..
and laughed..
Before you know it..
He's on plenty of Fish..
but never met no one..
I am too..
Do you ever go out..
I said, and see couples
niggling...
I'm glad I don't have
that to do...
I don't need a man for
anything these days.
they're obsolete..
maybe to drill the locking
nuts off my car..
But I can pay for that..
It's a short investment
without hassle..
nothing to loose..
Bizzare..the conversation
went...strangers
between the windows
of truth .
