Wingless angel

As she floats into this dark abyss
Where the hurtful hopeless only seemed to exist
Her aura shinning bright she only saw the best in things
Through her beautiful eyes she saw hearts in jars and a litter of angel wings

She heard loud music, and sweaty movements in this bottomless pit
Insecure beauties, and shapely bitter filled men
Everyone dance ignoring the angel wings
With sadness in her eyes she knew it was time to leave

From out of the crowd she heard a soft plead
and turned around to a giant man with a lock clinched tight upon his sleeve
He whispered the words she desired she could feel her heart weep
he said give me a wing and I'll give you this key

The music slowed down as the night went on
before she knew it they were dancing in this place alone
She said don't ever let me go promise you'll never leave
He pulled her closer and muttered I'll give you eternity If you shed your last wing

The wing fell to the litter as she gazed into his eyes
Filled confusion she couldn't help but to wonder why
Because i love you and with me you don't need to fly
We can stay here for the rest of our lives

They danced for months until she saw the most beautiful light
out of the corner of her eye she noticed the most beautiful guy
the giant man still looked in her eyes
They screamed she must go and they both knew why

In desperate plead he extend his arm
he said use the key and whatever inside is yours
out fell a heart she asked how does it still beat
science was wrong its only you that I need

her eyes filled with water she noticed the man with wings attempting to leave
she said im sorry but your heart isn't meant for me
with sadness and regret he tried to undo his deed
but watched his heart fall back out and land on top of her wings
