Wisdom of The Heart

There was a time in my life so dark that there was no light
left for me to see.
It was a place back in time I couldnt face my own mind
so I just let it leave.
My mind got lost on its way so only darkness remained
and I was left to believe.
I was alone on this earth and had been so since birth
so I let go and lost everything.
I really thought I was cursed so my life only got worse
until I realized that I was deceived.
It was the day that we met my mind came back to protect
my heart from all of the hurt it had seen
so with my eyes open wide I saw the dark turn to light
as If I was just waking up from a dream.
I thought this must be a trick so I fought what I felt
I let my mind make me sick and I watched my heart melt
I spent each day trying to fight all the ways you made me feel
Until I realized one night....Oh WOW! This love is for real..
  My mind healed itself, I watched as my heart regrew
by using the broken pieces of me and all the love felt from you
and as each day passes it continues to grow so I hope that I
have shown....
