WISER

I remember your influence,
I can see you growing older and wiser,
only one way to go right?
Cars speeding on the highway bother me,
I don't drink and drive,
I did a few times have drinks and drive,
I was told that the limit was two drinks an hour by a barman,
It was from a bar in a building my father owned,
I kept to two drinks or under that per hour, most often under,
again just a few times, mostly I drank soda when out.
When it was later clarified to me that it was one drink an hour,
I was enlightened that you cannot trust people,
or worse yet was the possibility that people were malicious,
You need to test information and people.
I got pulled over in a road check
but fortunately was under the legal limit for driving intoxicated,
I was taking a friend to a bar a few towns over,
I had to take a cab home, and ditch the car on the road though
I learned to never even have a drink and drive,
and to basically avoid the drink as much as possible,
I was never a drinker,
I never even smoked pot too much,
I explored psychadelics and consider myself gifted when it comes to tripping,
while others would not be hallucinating very much,
I would be going through enormous psychadelic vistas.
They're about to legalize Marijuana use in Canada,
I live a good life.
Memory is a kind of propriety,
forgetting you took me years,
but I remember your influencing my life,
Only one way to go, right?
I can see you getting older and wiser.
