Woodland whispers

I heard whispers
tho none of which were listened
as I rambled amidst the branches on the boughs that glistened
Minding my own business
biding my time
not wishing to be disturbed with unreasonable rhyme
But the whimpers gained intensity
as I strolled along
so I sang with immensity my lullably song
“Oh woodland whispers betwixt and between.. thou shadey copse so lush and green..hush your heeds of uncertainty..listen to my joys of melody”
And yet the murmuring mumbled on
thru the breeze midst the trees
just like a mournful yawn
“What an earth was it wanting me to hear ?”
Was I in any danger ?
Should I fear ?
So all of a sudden I stopped my singing
I hearkened to the heeding from the whining ringing
Concentrating on growling groans
as the leaves rumbled and grumbled their lamented moans
“Wander my wonderful webbing as ye should..my entangled timber of redwood.. throw thy pebbles on my ground.. to trace thy tracks so they shall be found.. my allurement of thy temptation alas may lead ye to damnation”
Then woos were all that whined to me amongst these woodland whispers of ambiguity
Whence I plodded on reminscing my pathways of possibilities
I soon found my exit using my capable abilities
I thanked Mother Nature for her caring compassion then went on my way in footloose fashion

This is a truly beautiful poem, Jill. Walking through the woodland, you hear all sorts of noises. I am sure the trees talk in their own fashion x
