Words

Words

Words of sorrow,
Words of joy.
Words from yesterday,
Words from tomorrow
Tumbling through the ether
Like so many shards of broken glass,
Glittering in the sunlight.

Broken melodies from a thousand voices unsung.
Hierarchies of defilement,
Kings upon the thrones of earth,
Castigated from the realms of heaven
Into the seething sea of endless words.

Tossed upon the rocks of desire.
Cast adrift from truth and light and clarity,
Quietened voices cannot call for charity.

Words cannot express,
The pain and sorrow deep within the hearts of men,
Nor sheer the veil of lies,
That divide us from our fellow man.

Yet, we are here but for a span.
And by our words,
We should do what we can.
