The words of God
Bring me home God
Where the water is still
For the mountains that beckonĀ
In this echo I can feel
For tomorrow is yet here
Now that yesterday is past
Deep in my prayer
This heart is so vastĀ
For the words of God to call my name
Bring me back from the precipice of shame
Bring me home God
To your painted windows
Where I can believeĀ
Every prayer mattersĀ
Through clarity I can feel
Your name in my heart
The word can revealĀ
Together or apartĀ
I am kneeling before you in the great church of shame
For the words of God to call my name
