Words for You

I.
Some days I wish I was a painter.
Until I remember that a blank canvas
and brush could never do you justice.
So I paint you with the smooth and steady stroke of my words.
I embrace the pieces of your soul even you leave unnoticed.

II.
Other days I sit and wish I was a singer.
Able to woo you with a simple melody
But, no lyrics or notes will ever truly
show you how much you mean to me.

III.
Everyday I am proud to be a writer.
Who gets to spend her time -

writing about you.
-sl.

Imani!  Love this write!  I believe a poet is a painter, a singer, a musician.  We write from different perspectives and our words flow with color, a melody and rhythm all their own.  Well Done!
