WORLDS

WORLDS

She tried so hard to save you, though she can’t even save herself. Now she longs to be understood, yet she revels in her loneliness. Calling down empty hallways wondering why no one comes, she lives in worlds you cannot see, with hope one day you will.

She sustains herself on empty dreams and the promise that it will end, because she goes to sleep hoping tomorrow will be better, although it never is. Every eve brings nightmares that all claim to know her name, they feast on any part of her that dares to try again.

Helping others is a way of not looking at our inner souls...and can leave us empty shells of a human being. Ā  Setting boundaries, Ā taking care of oneself is an act of love. Ā  I cannot help others until I take care of my own business first....

Lovely poem. Ā Cheers!
