Wounded Warrior

Wounded Warrior

What happened

in the jungles of your life

that killed your soul,

leaving you un-whole?

Staring at the stars,

I know pieces of you

are in the billions of lights

I can never see,

but that Iโ€™ve been told

are out there.

I would hold you for a lifetime,

if I could dare to dream

of holding that many stars

against my breast

forever.
