Wrapped in Inertia

Wrapped in Inertia

I lie, wrapped in inertia
Clouds of melancholy enfold me.
I have fought with Demons
And seen Dragons smoke
Destroyed lives.
And in observing
I have become uncomfortably numb.
Inertia consumes me
I have lost the will to fight.
The battle continues in my absence
The lame, the cripple, the child with no legs
The longterm prisoners held without trial.
The cries of the tortured echo across the Universe for all with ears to hear.
Thousands of civilians bombed
Homes destroyed
Lives and limbs in pieces
F16's plying their blood lust in the Gazan skies.
So many lost and fallen.
And yet here I lie, wrapped in inertia
Absent from the battle
Silent on the War Crimes
Withdrawn from the fight.
