The watch that urged the country
As time flew by on the wrists of those
With places to be
Planes to catch
And it wasn't just in Washington
Where time, ever, relevant
Just stopped, Paused
At JFK and Martin Luther King
But the wrist watch itself
Pressed on
Signaling the strength
Of a young nation
Counting the days until
Redemption,
Waved it's flag
And every American
With joy in their hearts
Would check their watch
And head off to work
To build the greatest country
The world has ever known...

Hi t this is the greatest country the world has never known but a lot of people are trying to tear down everything we have fought so hard to keep. It was different time so long ago when people would talk and not be glued to cell phones. We need to change from within or I think we will crumble like Rome within. Well done all stars hrl

I would love to travel to the USA and see that beautiful country, you have every right to be proud of yourselves, compared to little old England we are tiny. I wish you would come to England so I could show you our beautiful countryside! Ahh but a girl can dream can`t I? maybe when I win the lottery, I`d be able to get those hugs and kisses for real wouldn`t..!!!! Well done for another thought provoking superb piece sweety.

A great write T, the busy bee workers of the great hive race the time everyday in the land of the free. I wonder what life would be like without the existence of time. Very inspiring writes for American writers big brother.
