Writing is Better Than Speaking
Writing,
that is what we do.
An author is to write,
but not to speak.
I write
so I won't speak.
I don't want to say
the words
that are in my brain.
All just leaking out.
No one
will look at me the same.
All the words in my brain.
I'm going insane.
I can't speak
who I am.
Who am I?
I'm just a girl,
with the mind of crazy.
I want to be free.
I need to feel alive.
I'm trapped in a body
that never was mine.
They put me meds,
won't leave me alone.
I'm not crazy,
I'm sane.
They can't change me
I'm just me.
They placed me
somewhere I shouldn't be.
I'm going crazy,
they won't let it stop.
Everything is closing in
while I'm standing in between.
Who let them do it,
all that I've become.
I'm just an experiment,
a lab rat at that.
Who is doing the test,
who is behind the curtain?
I must know,
I'm going insane.
I want to be sane.
Not a project,
but here I am,
yelling at nothing.

Hey MADISON!!.... I've never read you before (my loss)..... this write is VERY personally powerful.......I used to feel exactly this way when I was young and they had me in the psych ward at Northwestern Hospital .........I hated the meds..... and my only "saving grace" was writing...... the way you broke your lines here ......was VERY revealing and touched a part of me I had nearly misplaced.......Thanx for sharing this sweet poetess!!......you have a gift!!.......ALL STARS!!..... well done.....and ......WELCOME to COSMO!!......
