WRITING THINGS DOWN

I have to write down things before I forget 
Making sure all is in order and nicely set 
Shopping lists, to do lists all on a piece of A4 
Helps me out no end that's for sure 

I'm getting older and my memory is fading 
No embarrassment in writing down things it's not degrading 
When you reach my age it will happen to you 
I think I'm doing well at eighty two 

Its funny I remember writing things down at school 
Seventy years later it's still the golden rule 
I will continue to do it over and over again 
If only I could remember where I put my pen
