YANN MARTEL-LIFE OF PI

~~I paid for national recognition,
As my birthplace isn’t home anymore,
Even though” EBA and OGBONO soup no go forget my tongue”,
Love and Letters hinder my identity,

But like you I want to walk,
Shores unend, stars uncounted,
I would leap on trees undocumented
To countries famous on screens,
From streets hidden behind technologies
To boulevards legends handmade,
I would drown bloated in waters united,
Swallowing tales untold centuries dead,
I would romance the moon to illuminate my head,
The stars to travel me through eternity and beyond,

If the forest would allow,
I would write her tales untamed,
Feed lions to caresses of my lips,
Snakes to coil round my pen,
If I could street through India like you did
I would, maybe I would
Sit in an airplane next to whom?
Fly within mountains into caves sheltered in shai hills,
Drink from elixir and magma filled cups,
Let the world write my soul to life,
Not allow sleep steal my dream away,
I f I could thread your footsteps,
Maybe I could give soul to your dead novel,
If only I have a passport and Dame’s Ankh
But where’s my identity to start.
Meanwhile I’ll tell you a story that’ll make you sit beside perfection.
YANN MARTEL.
