"You"

"You"

We lay together on the green blades of the Earth
the rough edges of the rocks beneath us jab into our backs.
My small, pale hands point to the flickering lights in the night sky.
She joins me, looking up. We search the vast darkness above us for constellations.
I lose myself, mesmerized by the infinite darkness.
Her touch pierces through the veil and brings me back.
Her breathe deepens as sleep puts her into a trance.
I run my fingers through her dark, dense, curls.
 Heavy tangles surround my skin.
"What are you thinking about?'' she murmurs.
I know she won't hear me when I answer, her big brown eyes already hidden behind the weight oh her eyelids.
I search the depths of my mind for the right answer
I keep finding her in places I did not know existed.
Her voice sweet, yet booming through the shadows of my mind.
The thought of her laughter traps me in a bewildered condition.
The thought of anyone else leaves me aloof!
The luscious scent of her skin, a mixture of traditional vanilla and extravagant lavender indulging me.
I try to uncoil the mess that is my mind and choose an answer.
I press my lips to her soft candy-coated lips and whisper my final answer.
"You."
