You Decide

You Decide

Feelings are complicated.
There are so many.
Pretty ones you like the most.
Ugly ones you don’t want.
Why do feelings love you?
Why do feelings hurt you?
There is love and hate.
Pure and evil.
Happy and sad.
Which ones do you choose to feel?
Or do you not get to choose?
Will you let someone else choose for you?
Let them make you feel those emotions?
Feelings come and go.
And most of the time,
You don’t get to choose which ones you feel.
Feelings happen.
The good and the bad.
You will have to live with them.
People say you are capable of that.
Because everyone else is too.
But how can you keep living,
When you’re dying out of fear,
Because you don’t know,
Which feelings will hit you next?
When you can’t handle them anymore?
But who will believe you?
Will you show them what you feel?
Do you want people to see who you really are?
Or will you put on a mask?
And live as a different person?
It’s up to you how to express your feelings.
Or if you’ll even do that at all.
But you must remember
That in the end,
It all comes down to this:
Will those feelings define who you are,
Or will you define who you want to be?
You decide.
