You Don't Know Me...

People cast stones,

Which should be cast at themselves.

They should hold a mirror to their face,

Before telling me about myself.

I know I'm not perfect,

But think before projecting your issues,

Onto somebody else.

My feelings can be hurt,

But my soul's spirit cannot be dented,

So words cannot affect my focus and commitment.

I'm not a slave to other peoples plans,

Which is why what I've achieved,

I have done on my own,

So there will always be casualties in this self obsessed world.

I have looked death in the eye's many times,

So I know my time on earth is precious,

Which is why I leave people to live their lives.

So which part of me should be bowing down,

To everyone's wishes and dreams.

What I don't have in wealth and riches right now,

I have been blessed with creativity, beauty and intelligence,

Which has got me this far.

The light shining for me is not far from my reach,

So don't expect me to give into your dictatorship.......
