You fail miserably, not me

I sense loss, such emptiness,
still cold air around me.
It lingers in my nostrils,
I become weak and breathless.
My legs feel feeble,
unable to stand up tall.
They say I am smart and capable,
but somehow I lose courage.
At times I can’t face the world,
I rather sit in the corner alone.
Think about the streets of gold,
the beautiful staircase to heaven.
This world gives me the cold shivers,
I smell dread, fear, and loneliness.
I awaken! I am not like failed livers,
I gasp for fresh air to live victoriously.
No problem will bring me down,
even my hollow heart will smile.
Gone is that stale air to frown,
Look at me, I am a brave lion.
I am refined like gold and silver,
I have come out strong.
I roar at the frightening shiver
that weakens my spirit.
Yes, world, you never give me joy,
you drain me of my will to live.
You treat me like your little toy,
but Jesus gives me the power to relive.
Aah world! The tables have turned.
You fail miserably, not me.
You try to make me a zombie and
hate life but your attempts are dead.
