You Good?

"Just two words is all it takes..."

You Good?

There, amidst the collective whimpers,
and gentle drops of falling rain,
the bravest soul in a room of heroes,
gasped for breath to begin again.

Her smiling eyes refused to listen,
to the words that silenced the room's content.
Perhaps immune in a world of vision,
perhaps too happy with what they meant.

For in her prose was laced a mission,
a philosophy of the Rose we had lost.
A reminder to love without condition,
and to help each other no matter the cost.

To open our arms and to turn our cheeks,
to live our lives with the joy that we seek.
To check with one another,
whether smiling or whimpering.

Even when we think we already know...
To ask the question that she always would.
For the answer, in time, may come and go...

"You good?"
