Poem -

You Killed Me

Once upon a time,
you were my friend,
who never told any of my secrets
or lied to my face.

But then we started middle school
and our friendship went downhill.
You left me to join
your new friends in your other classes.

You began lying
and making excuses
so that you didn't
have to be seen with me

Then we started high school
and we were on different statuses
You were Miss Popular
and Me? You made me become the loner

You had forgotten about our friendship
but you remembered everything I told you
every little secret
every embarrassing memory

You told all your "friends"
about the things I had done
that was when the rumors
about me began

The name calling,
the pushing,
the shoving,
it all became too much for me.

Then the day came
when you told me
to go kill myself
and so I did.

I stayed home
and waited . . .
I still had hope
hope for you to save me

When that hope died
so did I.

I went into the restroom
and took my bottle of sleeping pills.
I laid in bed and swallowed them all,
didn't miss a single one.

As I laid in bed
awaiting my final breath
I stared at the letters
I had left for everyone.

I wrote one for my parents
to apologize for giving up.
I wrote to my siblings
to apologize for not spending time with them.

There is even one
just for you.
This one is extra special
To you I said this,

"Remember,
your words are powerful.
Your old friend you bullied to death
Well, You Killed Me."

Live.Ā

Life does not give up on you.

People care about you, every step of the way.

Whether it's your mother,

brother,

father,

sister,

or just a stranger like me.

You have GREAT potential.

You are not forgotten, No matter what.

The Roar of life may seem hushed by hurtful whispers,

but it is strong.Ā

Show them,Ā

That they are wrong,Ā

that you are great,Ā

Don't prove them wrong.Ā

You'll just be another grave,

another name on a list.

instead, Live,

Your Call.
