Poem -

You Looked

You looked back to happenings of years earlier
You remembered it was much easier
You remember the glorious laughter
You remembered the pointless banter

You looked back at what had happened then
You remembered it was much harder when
You had only ever felt the pain
You remembered your hart was in two broken

Then you realised…

She who laughed
Only ever saw you as prey
She who touched
Only ever longed to see you cry

Then you learned…

There is no gain without pain
There is no summer without winter
That the memory of her should be slain
To make your smile wider and brighter

Forget the ones who disappointed
Remember the ones who embraced
Love the good
Damn the bad
