I am nothing

on the cosmological scale of everything I am, still, nothing

as a individual I have substance but I can do nothing

but as a friend I have meaning and worth

the actions I take have substance that attracts or repels those around me

and with this pull comes a tide of emotions from so many people

either positive or negative its matters not because when I'm by myself I am nothing but with you my nothing becomes something

with that something I can build a house, start a life

bring a smile to your face, with you I am something

I can be spectacular, strong, wise as long as I'm with you

but alone I am nothing

I am just a voice whose words bounce off emty walls echoing off into the distance until they simply cease to exist

but with you I am something

you give me value

you make me two

the greater of a lesser whole

just by hearing me and having an opinion you make me that much more valuble.

because alone I am nothing but as a friend I am something.
