Underneath the marbled arches, along the tree lined avenues
They clippity clopped cobbled stone paths, each wearing wooden shoes
Sounding like horse hooves echoing through the night
A lover boy and his pretty fair maiden in yon pale moonlight
And as they sheltered from the falling snow they snuggled up together
As snowflakes fell in symmetrical shapes, as light as a feather
Twas such a stillness of silence amidst that seasonal chill
When winter’s wrath blew a hooley at Mother natures will
Yet these two youngsters did not mind the storminess at all
As sweet nothings were whispered back and forth, stood huddled against that dark wall
Icy cold stalagmites and stalactites hung like fiery, frozen darts
Whilst true love’s kisses warmed the cockles of two young hearts…
