Young Hearts đź’•

Young Hearts đź’•

Underneath the marbled arches, along the tree lined avenues

They clippity clopped cobbled stone paths, each wearing wooden shoes

Sounding like horse hooves echoing through the night

A lover boy and his pretty fair maiden in yon pale moonlight

And as they sheltered from the falling snow they snuggled up together

As snowflakes fell in symmetrical shapes, as light as a feather

Twas such a stillness of silence amidst that seasonal chill

When winter’s wrath blew a hooley at Mother natures will

Yet these two youngsters did not mind the storminess at all

As sweet nothings were whispered back and forth, stood huddled against that dark wall

Icy cold stalagmites and stalactites hung like fiery, frozen darts

Whilst true love’s kisses warmed the cockles of two young hearts…
