Young Then Old

Young Then Old

Im sick.
With the twisted thoughts of youth,
I left them behind
When I hurdled the wall of naive,
Came down the otherside anew with pain,
A deep wound within
I still feel to this day.
Thou says live life not in regret,
But I have regrets;
And a closet full~dusty cold.
Locked in darkness, unmarked
Fading an old,
With wisdom learned
It is easier to side step the same mistakes twice,
The keys in my pocket point fingers
At me, at a sealed fortress door,
Longing sickness that once subsided
Wants that storage for more.
No! To this illness,
Iam mind with a heartbeat of light
Shining through darkness
With second chance sight,
No longer giving in to the good feeling of wrong
Remade for the better way of right.
Iam old with a cure
Young wrapped up in the dark,
Dipping into the well of sunshine
I remain in the light.
I remain in the light.....
