Poem -

Younger (possible Trigger Warning)

When we were younger,

we knew only happiness.

Playing with our dolls,

and our little cars.

Genuine smiles upon faces,

and tears when the bad days hit.

Thinking no one else had it worse,

we were the only importance.

But we're older now,

and it's all pain that we see.

No more dolls and cars,

but blades as a substitute.

Fake smiles tug our lips,

swollen eyes in the night.

Only ever being told,

someone else had it worse.

No longer any comfort,

when you fall and scrape your knee.

You hide away your feelings,

because you know they don't really care.

The new scars fade,

still no one notices.

You're in isolation,

hiding what's killing you.

And when you open up,

you become an attention whore.

It's just a phase,

grow up already.

And that's it.

When we were younger,

people cared.

But we.

Grew.

Up.
