Your First Thanksgiving 2001
You were just a little puppy, barely four months old;
So beautiful and cuddly, so wonderful to hold!
Mommy and Daddy were invited to a neighbors, on your first Thanksgiving day;
But we didn’t want to leave you, with no one home to play!
So we called our friends and asked them, if we could bring our Nico too;
For this day would be no fun for us, if we could not be with you!
They said, “Sure, it’s not a problem, we’d love to have him here”;
We said, “Thank you, you are so kind, for allaying all our fear”!
The moment that we got there, people thought you were so sweet;
They petted and they hugged you, were so happy you to greet!
You were the “Star” that first Thanksgiving, you made everybody smile;
We were so proud of our “pup-pup” Nico, and his unique loving style!

I'm feeling somewhat nostalgic today, our second Thanksgiving without Nico. So in the wee hours of the morning, I wanted to write about my fondest Thanksgiving memory, but instead of tears, I wanted to make it words of happiness.
