You're Beautiful
I wrote this poem to my “year-ago-self”

Hey you,
Why are you upset?
You don’t think you’re good enough?
You don’t know you’re beautiful?
Honey, you look gorgeous.
Can’t you see?
You’re perfect.
Flaws are just distractions from the truth.
The truth is,
You couldn’t be any better,
Than you are right now.
And you’re the best.
Look in the mirror,
And say to yourself,
I love you.
I know you won’t mean it,
But love grows over time.
It’s okay,
To feel like this.
But you deserve better.
You deserve to know the truth.
Acceptance isn’t an easy road,
But if you try to walk that road,
You WILL arrive at the end of it.
Believe me.
It’s happened to me.
Trust me when I say,
That your view of yourself,
Is all in your head.
Let me clear your vision.
You have beautiful eyes.
Beautiful hair.
A beautiful laugh.
A beautiful appearance.
Lovely character.
Hurting doesn’t make you less of who you are,
And who you’re supposed to be.
Remember that.
And know,
That you’re beautiful.
No matter what.
Love,
You.

Lovely poem of strength to oneself. Very therapeutic writing can be. Enjoy reading your work Tamara.
Love this. If only we had our older selves to tell us all their secrets. How it does get better and we are beautiful.Â
