Youth Behind a Mask

I look around and all I see
Youth behind masks, passing by me
They dress the same clothes
And wear the same hair
But all they can do is stop and stare

They gawp at the person they wish to be
Their insides brooding with pure jealousy
They cry in the night, pleading for light
Yet the next day comes with the same masks in sight

Look at me youth, look me straight in the eye!
Look deep down inside, are you really alive?
Take off your masks to reveal who you are
Unveil your humanity, you took it too far

I look around and all I see
Ghosts behind masks, passing through me
All love on Earth consumed by Black Death
Humanity gone and nothing else left.
