yucky I guess

we were at an indoor water park
climbing the stairs to the slides
when you said
”those guys in front of us are hot”
I just agreed but I didn’t feel like that
i don’t know why, but boys
at least at that point
never interested me in the ways
other girls were interested in them
i focussed on you and not them
but I think you wished I was them
i would steer us away from them
when I could that day
besides, they were older than us
and boys were yucky
but for some reason
they weren’t yucky to you anymore 
I wish you were yucky to me now
