A story from the world of Conan

On a cold night during mid winter a child cry was heard outside one of the temple. The moon was hidden by the clouds as the footsteps where hurried away. When the temple maiden found the child it was bundled up in a thick fur coat , her body was wrapped around in a fine silk cloth , clearly not something the commoner could afford, and on closer inspection there was a medallion with a note wrapped around it inside that silky cloth . Sadly for the child the note was burned. The medallion was melted down for gold and the temple maiden used the silky cloth as a personal head-wrap to use. Ā But the child was brought to a local orphanage , but the only thing the temple maiden said, was the name written in the note. "Ameena" And that was written in the orphanage log.

Few years passed and the child like all others in that orphanage was made to work as soon as she could lift a cloth as the Mitran pastor believed that work would make a good soul of the children , he also believed that the children should fast often ,specially when he proclaimed that they had sinful thoughts. And was the reason why Ameena was so small when she was at the age of five barely higher than a three year old. But still she charmed the couple that came to adopt a child and instead of a son they fell in love with those silver eyes of hers and took her home.Ā

Her first weeks at the farm she got seriously sick as the food was so nutritious that the child got ill from just eating the humble farmers food. But after the doctors visit, they fed her with broth and simple foods until she grew stronger and grew probably by a inch that first month. But her new life was wonderful, from the first day when she picked up the eggs for the man she soon called daddy, to the moment she fell asleep in her new mothers embrace, minus those days afterwards after feasting on the first meal in that house. The couple did adopt another girl later on by the name Camilla, Ā almost half a year older than her. But thatĀ“s another story.Ā

The life on the farm was simple, and filled with many happy moments and not so nice ones do to the high taxes they had to pay to live on the barons land. But the old couple managed and adored their daughters until their last day. Over the years before their arrival and after , that farm was known as a warm place for travelers to visit, when they hit a hard time as there was always a meal to be had or a bed for them to stay for a night. But one night the baron sent them a visitor and soon after the parents got sick. Leaving the two girls alone and when pleading with the baron for them to be allowed to continued to farm he gave them a proposal, one of them to wed him and the other taking over the farm with of course his assistance .Ā

The answer was clear as the girls held each other hands , looking at the baron and both shaking their head. Smiling at each other and shrugging their shoulders they packed up their things and divided their properties both heading to a new future, what fate they will have is unknown but Ameena was going to step in her parents footsteps, be it alone or not she did not care, a woman can run a farm,a man was not needed.
