Bertie The flightless pigeon

It twas a dark and gloomy stormy night late at twilight 10pm to be excact wind blowing wildly through the tree lined train tracks!!!                                    I then miraculously spied with my right eye a pigeon!!!                                   Yes a pigeon with a broken wing in the undergrowth! I raced back to Hungry Jacks to get a sack.   I retraced my steps, step by step, there was gusty rains tracing down my face!   When then I found him again, a moon beam had shone on the sore and sorry little critter with the jitters now flightless bird knocked off his perch!!! I gingerly gathered him up to put him in his bag I full of glee!      That night saftely at home I allowed him to perch on the back of my 3 seater lounge chair!     I fed him oats and a mixture of seed.    First for the first week he pooed slopperly on the floral couch! Than he began to settle down where I could pat him with a Cooee Cooee there and cooee everywhere! He would strech out his broken wing, than after a 6 week recovery  to my surprise he flew,  he wanted to be free once again and find his gang! In the open spaces of the air , he didn't want a luxury life style but in the air!!! It twas time to let Bertie go back to his home,I wanted my son Daniel and my daughter Chelsea to see Bertie free! In the dawn skies!!!    I cupped him in my hands and took him to the balcony,  I counted to 3 not knowing if he would fall the 2 floors down and hit the ground,  but on the count of 3 he flew like a dream machine!!!    He culled 3 times in victory of our combind  achievements together we achieved, I was amazed about little pigeon Bertie Sargent 2 stripped,  after all He was a homing pigeon!    He eventually bought back his beautiful harem of love doves, to roost in the gum trees in my front yard.    No worries I still feed the flock in the morning dawn,  it's been 15years now ! WOW!!! He has sired many young on oats and mixed seed!            Now time to clean up the sofa with soap and water, vacuum the carpets come out in the mid day sunshine!!!!                             End of story!!!!
